Townehouse Tavern Technical notes

The Townehouse has a compact sound system that truly delivers the love.  The magic of the sound is that the stage is in an angled corner with a low ceiling and absorbent sound panels on the walls.  It allows the band to have more control over their stage sound and let the P.A. do more of its work.  Typically, the low ceiling and close proximity results in 5 drum channels (strike the overheads- it’s a small room)

Stands

You may wonder about the Hammond and Rhodes in the corner of the stage picture.  These belong to the booker, Paul Loewenberg and they are just too damn heavy to move so they are stored in the corner of the stage.  The Hammond is an E-111 (classic B guts but with a church body).  The attack is good on the keys and the body is mint with music rack, seat and two octave bass pedal rack.  There is a Leslie 760 speaker with it (big ass solid state).  The Rhodes is an mid generation 88 key Rhodes piano (pre Mark 2, post- Fender).  The action is great though there is currently no sustain pedal.  These vintage keys are available to any musicians for performance at The Townehouse Tavern with a couple of days notice, to make sure that all of the proper cabling is on hand.
